Evaluation- Question 6

}This is for my evaluation on Question 6. What have you learnt about technologies from the process of constructing this product?

The three products I have used to construct my product are: Photoshop, indesign and a digital camera.
Initially, to create my magazine front cover, I used adobe Photoshop and for my double page spread and contents page used indesign. To be able to take my images for my product, I used a digital camera called DSLR this will allow me to get the highest resolution of photographs to use in my magazine.

In addition, using Photoshop for my magazine front cover, as a result before I started this project I was aware of the basic usage of Photoshop , however using this more in-depth I have learnt how to add effects to my images and make the text appear more bolder. This allowed my masthead and main image to stand out. I used the magnetic lasso tool to cut out my image and eliminate the wall background behind the artist in the image and then merged them onto my magazine front cover layout. I then used the polygonal lasso tool as a blur effect for the edges to fade some parts of the image for example my artists hair.

Furthermore, I used indesign to produce my contents page and double page spread, this was the first time I have ever used this platform to create a product. I have learnt many techniques about indesign; especially how to place images and import text from a word document onto the three columned layout. These columns helped a lot with the layout structure to become perfected as they acted as a guideline, also t would need to be very similar to an already produced contents page. With the double page spread it had two columns split; this also follows the conventions of a music magazine. As a result indesign was the best platform to fabricate these products.

Moreover, to take my images throughout all my final products I used a digital camera; this helped me make each aspect of my project better containing many unique images. I previously have knowledge of how to use a camera which made it easy to follow the instructions; as I learnt how to zoom into taking a picture and record. However, the only problem I faced was trying to get the best quality picture in order to make it look professional as possible.

Article for double page spread

High Tyde: A whirlpool of gigs!
I interviewed the new and upcoming band High Tyde; they are a British indie pop band originating from Brighton, England Before forming as a band, they had been friends for awhile. They would all go to their local skate-park to skate and chat with each other.[2] Louis and Spencer were originally in a band together.[3] Then Cody joined during their first band practiced. They become aware of that they would need another guitar in the band, so that led Connor to be in the band too. Then the band High Tyde was formed in 2012. The band consists of Cody Thomas which he is the vocals, Connor Cheetham on guitar, Spencer Tobias-Williams also on guitar and lastly Louis Semlekan-Faith who is the drummer. The ages in this band range from 18-19; the sound that this band captures is Inspiration from: Two Door Cinema Club. I got an exclusive interview with the lead singer of this uprising band: Cody Thomas
 How did the band meet?
We meet through mutual friends at a local skate park, we all went to a bar one day and started to talk about music had a jam the next day and we couldn’t stop jamming ever since. “We’ve been going for 5 years now since 2011.
When did you become fascinated in music?
My dad bought me a guitar when I was like 7 years old, so then on I realised I had a passion to at least be involved in music.
Do you have any hobbies you do besides singing?
I like to skateboard every now and then with the other members of the band, this hobby is what brought us together so we tend to continue making a trip down to any skate parks on this tour.
Have you always wanted to be a musician?
I don’t know because you don’t really remember what you wanted to be when you were younger, I guess I wanted to be a spaceman or some shit, but yeah from what I am aware of I’ve wanted to be a musician or an icon.
Why did you decide to make indie pop music?
Because Two Door Cinema Club’s released an album called tourist history and it kinda took me back a bit I was like I wanna make an album like that in the future so I did.
What was the first song you’ve performed in a huge crowd?
Music that is not our own we performed play that funky music when I was younger in our local venue, which we went back and headlined at, to perform this EP. The first time we performed one of our songs was call it; which was in early 2012 at a little bar in Brighton which I think is shut down now actually.
What’s the biggest festival you have been involved?
We did reading in Leeds recently which was insane, but the first European festival we did was in Valencia which was wicked, I’ve never been there before and was told that you can’t wear jeans, biggest regret of my life!
When did you release your first EP?
Our official first ep which was fuzz was released in early 2015, but we released a single in end of 2014.
Do you guys have any exciting plans coming up for your fans and where do you see yourselves in 5 years’ time?

Yeah of course we do more tours, bigger songs, and bigger mosh pits. Also I wanna travel all around the world, just meet loads of people, our main goal is to play at Glastonbury and to play in New York as well which would be amazing since I’ve never been.
